Car Shipping for Rolls-Royce Silver Spur Rolls-Royce was looking to appeal to the younger generation of owners that were more prevalent from the 1960s onward. The Silver Spur formed the basis for the Flying Spur, the Silver Dawn, the Touring Limousine and the Park Ward. Additionally, the same chassis was used by sister company, Bentley for their new Eight series line of autos. The Silver Spirit was introduced by Rolls-Royce in 1980, and was the first of a new generation of models for the company. These were designed to meet the increasingly strict safety and emissions legislation that was being adopted. Later, in 1998, the entire line was replaced with the BMW-powered Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage. The Silver Spur was indeed just the long wheelbase version of the Silver Spirit, which was produced at the same time. Thus, the Silver Spur was not entirely new. Also, it shared the basic platform with the Silver Shadow as well as the car's 6.8 L V8 engine. Anyhow, the Spur did continue the high degree of ride quality and self-leveling suspension from the Shadow. Only this time, it used a Girling automatic hydraulic ride height control system and gas-charged shock absorbers. With Austrian born Fritz Feller heading the styling department, he was responsible for the elegant design and significantly enlarged window areas. The Silver Spur had a considerably improved ride and road handling.

As to be expected the cars were luxuriously equipped with leather seats and deep pile carpets giving supreme comfort. Further, the veneer covered dashboard of the Silver Spur retained the traditional appearance. To much excitement, a long wheelbase version limousine became available with extended passenger compartments some years later. There could not be a better manufacturer of luxury autos in the world. If you want to ride in style, you want to ride in a Rolls-Royce.
