AMC Wrangler Vehicle Transport

Across high schools all over America, kids are begging their parents to buy them the ever-popular AMC Wrangler. This mini Sports Utility Vehicle produced by American automaker AMC is the successor to the infamous World War II 1950s ‘Jeep’. The trend setting Jeep was first produced by Willys and later produced by Kaiser-Jeep and AMC. The debut of the Wrangler in 1987 was a major moment for the adventurous type who were looking for a stylish and fun to drive off-roading vehicle with a soft top. The model was updated in 1997 and again in 2007, and is still popular today something that many automakers cannot claim for their older models. From 1987 till 1992 the Wrangler was built in Brampton Ontario, Canada; although, today the Wrangler is produced at Jeep’s Toledo South Assembly plant in Toledo, Ohio on account of the Canada’s plant closure. In fact the Wrangler name was not even used in Canada, as it was a trim level of Chevrolet pickup in that particular market. Rather, from 1987 to 1995, the models were sold as YJ, and from 1997 to 2006, the models were sold as TJ.

Vehicle Transport Quotes For AMC Wrangler

For those looking to fit into the Wrangler community it may be interesting to know that the model designations of YJ and TJ are used throughout the world in the Jeep enthusiast community to differentiate which model is being spoken of rather than using the more ambiguous term “Wrangler”. The Wrangler replaced the much loved but slower-selling Jeep CJ in 1987. The new design included a wider wheelbase, slightly less ground clearance, and more comfort. The Wrangler also had a leaf spring suspension much like that of the CJ, however, the springs were wider, and the YJs sported track bars and sway bars for added handling. The Wranglers are easily identifiable by their rectangular headlights, which ironically were a source of controversy when they were introduced. Despite the new grill, the body is much like that of the CJ’s, and it is interchangeable with some minor modifications. In fact, many CJ owners with a rusted body replace them with a newer Wrangler body, as they are almost cosmetically identical and the lines from the nose match up perfectly. In total 632,231 Wranglers were built through model year 1995 and the ever-popular production continues today. Go here for more specs on the Wrangler. Mercedes-Benz GL 450 suv Vehicle Transport Quote

The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, code named X164, is a DaimlerChrysler full-size luxury crossover Sport Utility Vehicle built by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz since the 2007 model year. The GL-Class debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. This model is designed to compete with such high-end SUVs as the Toyota Highlander, the Chevy Suburban, and the Ford Expedition. It will most likely be able to hold its own in this class given that for starters, it is the only vehicle in its class with uni-body construction. This type of construction ensures a tighter, more rigid frame and better stability, which greatly improves the feel of the vehicle when taking tough terrain and when driving around town. It is truck like in size and appearance, but the GL450 is engineered to ride like a luxury sedan. However, this should not be taken to mean that it is not capable of playing with the big boys.

Vehicle Transport Quotes For Mercedes-Benz GL 450 suv

This is a true full-size SUV, with the ability to carry up to seven passengers comfortably, thanks to third-row seating, and a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. This will though look like a sharp vehicle inside and out. Exterior features include a chrome-ribbed grille, a sloping roofline and dual square polished stainless steel exhaust pipes. Not to mention, it includes color-keyed body side moldings and door handles, and bumpers with chrome trim. This car is sure to be a looker. From the front end, the GL450 projects a formidable appearance. Mercedes notes, however, that this is a gentle giant, with the ability to both pamper and impress its passengers while ensuring their safety in all situations. Thus making this a great car for the whole family. It will be something that both mom and dad are comfortable driving or even, if he or she is lucky, the teenage child. Learn more about the luxury crossover sport utility vehicle the Mercedes-Benz GL 450 and receive an instant vehicle transport quote using our online rate calculator.

Toyota Van Vehicle Transport Cost

The Toyota Van was manufactured by Toyota and was offered worldwide in a multitude of versions. It featured a sharply sloped front, which was in contrast to the upright flat front common in other similar Japanese vans. The Toyota Van was the first mid-size van, such as the present day minivan, before the release of the Chevrolet Astro in 1985 and the thereafter-released Ford Aerostar in 1986. Further, the Van was released at the same time as the Dodge Caravan, which would prove to be tough competition. The American model was officially known as just the Van, although it was the same model as the Space Cruiser that was available in Japan and Europe, and the Tarago model that was being sold in Australia. In Sweden, the Van was sold as the Toyota Model F. The rear wheel drive versions were imported to the United States from 1984 to 1989, and the four wheel drive versions were imported from 1987 to 1989.

Things were coming to a close though, and the Toyota Van was replaced in the United States by the Toyota Previa in 1991. It must be noted though that Toyota must have a unique marketing department. They launched a Wonderwagon ad campaign in the 1980s that advertised the Van as the “Toyota Wonderwagon”. This ended up leading to some confusion. As it turns out, only the passenger models were called the “Wonderwagon”, where as the cargo versions are referred to as the “Cargo Vans”. Anyhow, not that this has been cleared up, the engine was placed between and behind the front seats, which left a gap behind the front seats. This illogically makes servicing the vehicle a challenge since the engine cover must be removed in the passenger compartment. Perhaps the marketing department was responsible for that as well. Use our vehicle transport cost calculator, which we created first, and learn about the Toyota Van by going here.

Jeep Compass Vehicle Transport

The Jeep Compass is based on the DaimlerChrysler/Mitsubishi GS platform. Unlike the other vehicles that are also on the same platform, the Compass is differentiated by its styling and marketing. For example, the Patriot is a traditional 4-door Jeep wagon, while the Compass is intended as a sporty “hot hatch” crossover like the Toyota Matrix. The Dodge Caliber, also based on the GS platform, is a combination of these two segments. Anyhow, the Jeep Compass is a compact crossover Sport Utility Vehicle introduced for the 2007 model year. Jeep made its public release of the Compass at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in January. The Jeep Compass, along with the Patriot will take over from the Jeep Liberty as Jeep’s entry-level sport utility vehicles, and is one of Jeep’s first crossover SUVs. This model has a fairly low-ticket price coming in at $15,985 for a base model in the United States market.

On May 30, 2006 the first Compass was produced. It uses a 172 hp 2.4 L GEMA I4 gasoline engine and will also get a 2.0 liter Volkswagen-designed diesel engine for the European and Australian markets. The 2.0 diesel from Volkswagen is the same as the engine used in the Volkswagen Passat. The Compass also features an electronically-controlled all wheel drive system with variable torque between speeds of 25 and 65 mph for optimal handling. However, the base model version has only FWD, a first for any Jeep. This is in fact seen as a downgrade for Jeep, but for reasons unknown, that was the decision that was made. The Compass will be the first Jeep offered in many years that isn’t badged as “Trail Rated”. This indicates that the Compass has not passed the same testing of off-road ability as other Jeep vehicles in terms of traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation, and water fording. Hopefully the Compass is not an indication of Jeep models to come. Use our vehicle transport calculator, which we created first, and learn about the Jeep Compass by going here.

Lincoln Aviator Vehicle Transport Cost

Prices for the Lincoln Aviator ranged from $ 39,940 for the base RWD model to $ 42,890 for the AWD model, so this is not a model to be playing around with. The Lincoln Aviator was a mid-size luxury Sport Utility Vehicle from the Ford Motor Company’s Lincoln-Mercury Division. It was introduced in 2003, and production ended quite quickly in 2005. The Aviator was built exclusively at Ford’s St. Louis Assembly plant in Hazelwood, Missouri. It faced competition from the Cadillac SRX, the Lexus GX, which happened to be launched at the same time as the Aviator, and the Infiniti FX. Despite the initial praise, the Aviator was a poor seller for Lincoln as many hypothesizing that its all-too-familiar looks were to blame for the failing sales. It was quickly discontinued in August of 2005.

Originally, the Aviator was supposed to be on hiatus for the 2006 model year and reappear based on the CD3 platform the next year. However, Ford scrapped the Aviator name, and the car has been replaced by the Lincoln MKX crossover SUV instead. This replacement was unveiled at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. The MKX went on sale in December 2006 as a 2007 model and will hopefully be able to survive longer than its big brother. The original Aviator’s styling hewed intentionally close to that of its previous role model, the Navigator, and Lincoln itself played up the similarity with magazine ads that read, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Especially when it’s yourself you’re imitating”. In reality, this tag line was too long and too convoluted to actually attract buyers. People like to flatter themselves, but not so blatantly. The Aviator seemed to have been met with relatively positive press coverage, and even Car and Driver magazine said in a comparison test, in which the Aviator tied for fifth place, that the car’s high price and lack of certain features held it out of contention for the top spots. This was more or less like saying, “you are good, but not good enough”. More details on the Lincoln Aviator here . Subaru Legacy Vehicle Transport Quote

The Legacy began with both a 5 door wagon and 4 door sedan body styles being offered with FWD and an optional AWD package. The Subaru Legacy itself is a mid-size car introduced by the Japanese manufacturer Subaru in February 1989. It was created as a larger, more upscale companion to the company’s Leone. The Legacy showcased a newly designed engine to replace the aging EA series. It was named the new EJ series. When it debuted in the United States, the only major difference between the original concept car was it featured a larger displacing a 2.2 liter engine. In Japan, a turbocharged Legacy GT was launched in 1989, and was then followed in 1991 by the introduction in the United States of a Sport trim of the sedan. However, this was dropped and the LE Wagon in 1992 was instead offered with a turbo configuration. An all-wheel drive system was also offered.

In the Australian market, it instead bears the name Liberty, which it was called out of respect for Australia’s Legacy organization, which aids veterans and their families during and after wars. It would have been a PR nightmare to explain that one had they not caught the potential confusion early. The second-generation sales in Japan began with model year 1993, and in 1995 the second-generation sales began in North America. This included a full body & chassis revision. Prior to this, Subaru sales had been declining in the North American market. With the help of some clever marketing, a trim level called the Outback was launched. Its popularity would eventually lead to the development of the Outback as a stand alone model rather than a trim level. Further, in North America, the early sporty models were known simply as the Sport Sedan and the Touring Wagon. The Subaru Legacy is still seen as a sport-utility vehicle.
