Nissan Xterra

Nissan, the Japanese automaker with a reputation famous for delivering high quality, stylish vehicles, rolled out the Xterra for the 2000 model year as a fun sport utility vehicle, aimed at a younger generation of drivers. This powerful SUV embodies the handling of a truck, but in a sleeker, more stylish design, that's a great value for its price. The Xterra offers buyers a powerful, smooth ride in a vehicle built with solid craftsmanship and superb reliability to compliment its good looks. The interior boasts plenty of cargo room is equipped to accommodate even large items. Included among standard features are tilt steering, air conditioning, and AM/FM stereo, which includes a standard compact disc player in 2003 and later years, replacing the previously standard tape deck. The Xterra is available in rear or all wheel drive, and both an automatic and manual transmission. Buyers were initially given a choice of three distinct trim styles, each with its options that range from basic to extravagant, allowing for the expressions of personal taste. A fourth style, the X, was made available for the 2006 model year. 2006 also added a standard power package to each of the S trims. Additionally, of the available versions, the SE is the upscale and inclusive, and carries with it the highest price tag. The first makeover for the Xterra occurred in 2005 with the beginning of the second generation. This year, it received several updates, including a redesigned chrome grille and added interior room. The Xterra has built a reputation for excellent reliability, and has received five star side crash test safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Standard safety features include traction and stability control systems, driver, passenger and side airbags. Side curtain airbags are optional in all trims. The Nissan Xterra is practical for meeting the demands of everyday life, adding to it an element of adventure to keep the ride interesting.
