Kia Spectra

Korean automaker Kia first produced the Spectra in the 2000 model year as a hatchback design, adding further substance to its growing reputation of providing consumers with attractive, efficient vehicles at very desirable prices. In fact, the Spectra has seemed to capture the sentiments of this goal perfectly, finding an ideal balance between stylish sports car and reliable family transportation. A more traditional, four door sedan style of the Specta was premiered for the 2002 model year, and replaced the Sephia in the lineup, the first model ever to be offered in the United States by Kia. Although the Spectra has undergone quite a few changes over the years, its solid craftsmanship and reliability have remained the same, and comes with the extraordinary 10 year/100,000 mile power train warranty traditional of all Kia's to help ensure its dependability for years to come. The Kia Spectra is perfect for anyone looking for sophistication at an affordable price. The base model of the Spectra is built with a standard five speed manual transmission, though a four speed automatic is available as an option. Air conditioning has always been a standard amenity since its debut. An AM/FM stereo with a compact disc player in 2003 and later years is a part of the standard package; in models prior to this year, a cassette player can be found. Safety was also largely taken into account in creating the Spectra's base model. From 2000-2004, the hatchback versions were offered in two trims: the GS and GSX. The major differences between the two was the GSX was slightly pricier and offered standard power controls and a leather steering wheel for a more upscale feel. In the 2005 model year, the Spectra hatchback spun off into its entirely separate model and renamed the Spectra5. Of the sedan versions, three distinct trims are offered: the LX, EX, and the newly introduced SX, which first became available in 2005. Many options are available in each, allowing buyers to create a vehicle for their individual needs. With sporty looks and a nominal price tag, the Specta is a versatile vehicle that offers something for everyone.
