GMC Savana 1500 - 8 Pass Van

GMC is known to produce strong and durable work vehicles for every occasion and every need. The GMC Savana 1500 is just another such model capable of carrying passengers and their appropriate belongings. The GMC Savana 1500 is an eight-passenger van, which makes it perfect for school use, church use or club/activity use. General Motors is the company behind this automobile and actually manufactures a number of other, and very similar, models. For example, the Savana is also available as a cargo version, which logically means that it more or less does not contain the rear seating. Creating and manufacturing a cargo or large passenger van is not as simple as merely increasing the size of say a minivan. The GMC Savana had to be constructed with the taillights raised higher than normal because in this case if the rear doors are open, or when towing a small trailer, the vehicle's own lights can still be seen. This is simply a safety feature that GMC thought was important for the Savana. In terms of fuel efficiency, the GMC Savana 1500 really isn't that bad compared to the plethora of Sport Utility Vehicles on the market today. It is rated to get about 14 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway which even beats out the Ford Explorer, which is a much smaller vehicle. Additionally, GMC seems to be putting some effort into the Savana line and increasing the offerings, which as history as told, is a good way to ensure that the model stays competitive in the marketplace. As of 2007, the Savana 1500 8 passenger van will come with the choice of 5.3 L, 295 hp or 6.0 L, 300 hp V8 engines. A few other changes have occurred over the years, two major changes to be exact since its inception in 1996. In 2003, the Savana 1500 began being offered in all wheel drive and then the 2007 changes as already stated.
