Cadillac STS

The STS, which stands for "Seville Touring Sedan" is a luxury car sold by Cadillac. This model is the successor to the Cadillac Seville but is an up scaled performance-oriented versions. Cadillac chose to split the Seville line into STS and the less performance-oriented SLS perhaps to better meet the needs of their consumers. The STS is running on Cadillac's Northstar System, which included the aluminum DOHC L37 "Northstar" V8 engine. This is the car for anyone looking the purchase the top of the line Cadillac. It is even the most expensive model in the Brand, which was earned in the flagship position for Cadillac all around the world. In North America, the STS is up against the Acura RL, BMW 5 Series, Lexus GS, Infiniti M and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. In Europe it faces competition from the Audi A8, Jaguar XJ, BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The 2008 model year will see and new STS hit the market. Changes are scheduled to include a refreshed exterior, with styling cues that should resemble the 2008 CTS. Such upgrades would be a larger, more aggressive grille and chrome fender vents. The STS is sure to command even more road presence after the changes are put in place. Not to mention, the driver will see some added comfort features such as new materials and a new steering wheel. The standard powertrain will now be changed to a direct-injected 3.6 L V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, from which the STS will produce 298 horsepower (222 kW) and 268 ft·lbf (363 N·m) of torque. It would be hard to argue that this car is lacking in anything. Even those drivers who are focused on safety have been given something to be excited about such as a lane departure warning system, a blind spot monitoring system, and an improved version of GM's StabiliTrak stability control system. This added system can now operate the steering system in addition to the brakes to help correct a skid. It seems this may improve driving during wet or snowy conditions, which are always a headache for drivers. The 2008 Cadillac STS is scheduled to debut at the 2007 New York Auto Show.
