Car Shipping for Suzuki XL-7 The Suzuki XL-7 is Suzuki's mid-size Sport Utility Vehicle that was launched in 2001. The first-generation XL-7 was a Suzuki concept that was essentially a stretched Grand Vitara. It had a Suzuki created 2.7 liter V6 on a rear wheel drive-based platform with the option of four wheel drive. When launched, the XL-7 was the least expensive SUV available with 3-row seating in North America. One might think this would make it a winner with buyers. The Suzuki XL-7 packs the most power in Suzuki's SUV lineup as well. Further, it has enough room for either 5 or 7 passengers, depending on the trim level. This model which began with a 2.7 L, 183 hp V6 engine and got a major power upgrade to 3.6 L and 252 hp in 2007.

The 2007 XL-7 debuted on April 13, 2006 at the New York Auto Show. The design shifted to the larger front wheel drive-based Theta platform and will be manufactured alongside the Chevrolet Equinox and the Pontiac Torrent at CAMI Automotive in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. This new model is Suzuki's first crossover SUV sold in North America. It highlights a Suzuki-built model of the GM High Feature engine, a DOHC 3.6 liter V6 which pumps out 252hp and has a five-speed automatic transmission. The New XL-7 was intended to be a family vehicle, thus the Xl-7 has dropped some of its off-roading capabilities. The Xl-7 is no longer meant for heavy duty off road travel, however it can handle some off road trails. But, as a result, it dropped its low rang transfer case, and now only has automatic all wheel drive. Overall, the XL-7 does its best work as a commuting vehicle. Many are speculating that the XL-7 with its crossover design will become more popular over the years. Further, many believe that Suzuki will carry the design concept to other models that are currently in the design works.
