Car Shipping for Saturn SC Series The S-Series is a family of compact cars from the Saturn automobile company. The S-series first debuted in 1990 with the SC, which stands for sports coupe, and the SL, which stands for sedan level. The SW, which stood for sedan wagon, debuted at the 1992 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This was in fact the first series of Saturn vehicles in all of time. The Z-body platform was developed entirely in-house at Saturn and shared very little with the rest of the General Motors model line. It put into service a space frame design, which is also seen on some Pontiacs, meaning that the side panels did not carry any load and thus could be made of plastic pieces instead of metal. These polymer panels were dent-resistant which is something that has remained a major selling point for Saturn through its later models. However, it must be noted that they do look a little different than a typical panel, and some have criticized the aesthetic appearance as a result.

Anyhow, the S-series was sold from the fall of 1990 through the end of the 2002 model year, with redesigns in 1996 and in 2000. A modification partly through the 1999 model year gave the SC a small suicide door on the driver's side. This was an innovation in coupe design. In terms of where one might find such a model, Taiwan and Japan were the only two foreign countries to where the Saturn SC Series was exported. From 1992 to 1996, the Saturns were sold in Taiwan, and in the late 1990s, they were exported to Japan. The S-series was later replaced by the larger Saturn ION in 2003, which has yet to match the S-series' success. In fact, the ION will never match its success as it has been canned.
