Additional Isuzu OasisCar Shipping Information:
Car Shipping for Isuzu Oasis The Isuzu Oasis is a multi-purpose vehicle manufactured as a product of an agreement between Isuzu and Honda from 1996 to 1999. Under this agreement, Honda would purchase Isuzu Rodeo and Isuzu Trooper vehicles to be sold as the Honda Passport and Acura SLX, respectively, while Isuzu would purchase Honda Odyssey and Honda Civic vehicles to be sold as the Isuzu Oasis and Isuzu Gemini, respectively. The Odyssey however was a huge success when compared to the Oasis. The best part about this, and in fact the ironic part, is that these were essentially the same cars. Not to mention, the less popular Oasis came with a lower sticker price and a better warranty. So essentially, people were overpaying for the Honda because they thought they were getting either a different car or a better one. This is just one example of many where a Brand name was able to attract a big audience and subsequently draw a more expensive price. This is precisely the inefficiency of the marketplace and a good example of why not to judge a book by its cover, or at least by its brand. As was then to be expected, the Oasis only made it for three struggling years from the 1996 model year to the 1999 model year.

The Odyssey was redesigned for 1999, but Isuzu still sold the original body with minor changes all the way through 1999. Unlike the Odyssey in the United States, later Oasis models came with a VTEC engine as found in the fourth-generation Honda Accord EX. The Oasis and the Odyssey were the first minivans to have a flat-folding third row seat. It does look like there was a happy ending to the story; presumably, Isuzu sold off the remaining stock of the Oasis in an unusual manner, as more than a normal amount of Oasises can be seen as New York City taxis.
