Additional GMC Yukon XLAuto Transport Information:
Auto Transport for GMC Yukon XL The GMC Yukon XL is a super version of the popular Sports Utility Vehicle GMC Yukon. This is a great model for the true weekend outdoor enthusiast, but who also wants to ride in style during the week. Better yet, the Yukon XL is a popular alternative to the Ford Crown Victoria for police divisions in rural areas. That might just be a reason to head out of town to get your first sergeant position. The GMC Yukon XL is an extended full-size SUV from General Motors under the GMC marquee. The Yukon XL is not exactly a new car and to understand this some history has to be dug up. Chevrolet and GMC both used to sell two different-sized SUVs under the names Blazer and Jimmy. These models were on the market until the early 1990s. GMC moved ahead and rebadged the full-size Jimmy as the Yukon in 1992. Two years later in order to "keep up with the Jones'" Chevrolet introduced the compact S-10 Blazer as the Blazer, and renamed the full-size Blazer as the Tahoe. Then came the GMC Yukon XL as a larger version of the already popular GMC Yukon.

Both the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon currently serve as General Motors' full-size SUVs. The GMC Yukon XL is added to the mix as the 'big brother' so to say. Drivers looking for something with a little more room and a lengthened wheelbase are encouraged to consider the Yukon XL over the standard Yukon. This model will give considerable more interior space and will also allow for improved towing capacity. This is a great vehicle to tow the boat to the lake, river or bay. And then, for those who liked to be pampered, as of 2002, a Denali adaptation of the Yukon XL was also available as the Yukon XL Denali. The future of the Yukon XL is uncertain at this point given the changing preference for more fuel efficient vehicles and thus for smaller cars. It will be interesting to see if GMC is able to produce something that is both of quality SUV status and earth friendly at the same time.
