Auto Shipper for Nissan Cedric The Nissan Cedric is a large luxury automobile produced by Nissan since 1960. It was at first developed to provide upscale transportation and to compete with the Prince Skyline and the Gloria, which were later ironically merged into the Nissan family. In Japan, the Cedric series was affectionately called Cedglo, and it was a sad day when this long running series finally came to an end in October 2004. At that point it was replaced by the Nissan Fuga. The Cedric name, being that it was so loved, is still in use on the Y31 fleet vehicle. This model was updated in 2005 and is still in production. Back at the beginning, the first Cedric was a 30 series, which was introduced in 1960 and produced for only one year. Production ended in 1961. It used a 1.5 L G-series I4 engine, which produced 71 hp, and a 1.9 L H-series with 95 hp was also available as an option. Coming standard on the Cedric was a 4-speed manual transmission with the top three gears synchronized. The first Cedrics featured two stacked headlights on either side of a large grille. There was another version known as the 31 series that was produced from 1962 until 1965.By this point, the quad headlights were now mounted horizontally, but the same engines were still being used.

Again, the Cedric was updated in 1964 with a new dashboard, an alternator rather than a generator and a new starter system. The exterior changes were limited to a new grille, which was adopted for 1965. Yet another Cedric came along in 1963, which was a Cedric Special. It was produced from 1963 to 1965 as a long wheelbase version with extra chrome and other luxury additions. Under the hood was a large 2.9 L K-series I6 engine producing 118 hp.
