Additional Mitsubishi Mighty Max PickupAuto Shipper Information:
Auto Shipper for Mitsubishi Mighty Max Pickup The Mitsubishi Mighty Max Pickup is a compact pickup truck produced by Mitsubishi Motors as it was at first known as the Mitsubishi Forte in Japan from 1978 to 1986. It was also known as the Mitsubishi L200 in other export markets. Later, in 1986, the Forte name was completely discontinued in favor of the L200. In the United States two other imports of the Mighty Max Pickup were sold by the Chrysler Corporation as the Dodge Ram 50 and the Plymouth Arrow Truck. Mitsubishi itself imported it as the Mitsubishi Mighty Max when it began selling directly to the United States in 1982, at which point the Plymouth was no longer available. In other places, such as in Australia and New Zealand, the Triton name was introduced. This model was available in three trims: regular cab, extended cab and crew cab.

The third generation, designed by Akinori Nakanishi, was the first model built in Thailand. This model was exported to 140 global markets. That is a huge reach for an automaker and whether or not it paid off is debatable. North America, which already has the Mitsubishi Raider, will not see the new truck as the segment is already overcrowded. The models that are already in play are having a hard time competing with rising gas prices. The L200 name will remain for the European market, but in Japan it has been superseded by the Triton moniker. Further, two L200-based race vehicles were raced in the 2005 and the 2006 Dakar Rally by Mana Pornsiricherd of Thailand and Alexey Burkut of Russia. This was some nice publicity and fan fare for the model. Additionally, the 4x4 styled 4x2 models have been added in the lineup since the end of November 2006. These were available exclusively for the Thai market though.
