Additional Mercury MilanAuto Shipper Information:
Auto Shipper for Mercury Milan The Milan was showcased at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show on February 9th. Earlier, though, at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show, a hybrid version was announced for the 2008 model year. As the Ford Fusion Hybrid has been pushed back to 2008 as a 2009 model, the Mercury Milan hybrid will most likely not be seen until then either. This of course is a huge let down to the automotive community, not so much to the oil community. The Mercury Milan is a front-wheel drive mid-size sedan built on the Ford CD3 platform and manufactured by Ford Motor Company. The Lincoln-Mercury division distributes it though. The Milan is an upscale version of its Ford cousin, the Ford Fusion, while being slotted below the luxury oriented Lincoln MKZ, which was formerly known as the Lincoln Zephyr sedan. The Milan differs from the Fusion by showcasing a unique front and rear design, larger rear doors, LED taillight clusters, projector headlamps and fog lamps, a modified suspension and an upgraded interior.

The Milan filled the Mercury lineup gap, which occurred from the discontinuation of both the Mercury Mystique in 2000, and the Mercury Sable in 2005. This was leaving a huge hole in the marketplace for competitors to take Mercury buyers. The Milan is available in four packaged trims: the Milan I4, the Milan I4 Premier, the Milan V6, and lastly the Milan V6 Premier. Both the Milan and Fusion, along with the MKZ, are products of the Mazda 6 sedan, however they only share 40% of its parts. All 2007 V6 Milans came equipped standard with the new six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive was added as an available option for the 2007 model year, but only for the V6 equipped vehicles. The Milan four cylinder comes standard with a five-speed manual, and it is available with the optional five-speed automatic.
