Additional Mazda CX-9 suvAuto Shipper Information:
Auto Shipper for Mazda CX-9 suv The CX-9 is the first Mazda to use the 3.5 L Ford Cyclone V6, which is being called the MZI in Mazda guise. This is sort of a joke given that consumers are getting the same thing unknowingly. Anyhow, Mazda states that the MZI will generate 263 horsepower. Whereas, on the other hand, Ford has announced that the same engine will produce 265 hp and 250 ft•lbf in the Edge. Now either they really are slightly different, or one company is being deceptive. The CX-9 uses an Aisin sourced 6-speed automatic transmission with a console-mounted shifter in a complex Mercedes-Benz-like gate.
The CX-9 is built on the stretched Mazda6 platform. Although it is similar in appearance to the smaller Mazda CX-7, the CX-9 will share little of that vehicle's platform components. It is a front-wheel drive vehicle with an optional four-wheel drive system. This is in reality a full-size crossover SUV being built alongside the smaller Mazda CX-7. It will offer a third-row of seating, which thankfully will be replacing the Mazda MPV minivan for North America.

The CX-9 was unveiled on April 13, 2006 at the New York International Auto Show and buyers were just glad to know that the minivan was history. Manufacturing occurs at Mazda's Ujina 1 plant in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan and is scheduled to be in showrooms in early 2007. The CX-9 will compete with the redesigned 2008 Toyota Highlander, the Nissan Murano the all-new 2007 Hyundai Veracruz. The CX-9 will offer options such as DVD navigation system, Hands free Bluetooth phone link, Backup Camera and a rear entertainment system with Bose 5.1 surround sound. This is a pretty nice model for a Mazda. Further, standard safety equipment will include Dynamic Stability Control, Traction Control, Roll Stability Control, front side impact airbags and 3 row side Air Curtains.
