Additional Buick ReattaAuto Shipper Information:
Auto Shipper for Buick Reatta The Reatta Craft Center in Lansing, Michigan produced a beauty of a vehicle with the Buick Reatta. It was a hand-made luxurious sports coupe produced and sold by the Buick division of General Motors. It hit the market in early 1988 and remained there until 1991. Much like the Cadillac Allante, it was based on a shorter version of the GM E platform, which was used, by the Cadillac El Dorado, Oldsmobile Toronado and the Buick Riviera. In fact, the Reatta shared its advanced electronics and interior furnishings with the Riviera. But, that is about all the sharing that the Reatta did; it sported its own unique body style and was built with an attention to detail and quality that frankly was not standard for a mass-produced automobile ' and in fact is still not standard and probably never will be standard for a mass-produced automobile. The Reatta was initially offered as a hardtop coupe, but a convertible version was added in the 1990 model year.

This vehicle was amazing on more levels than one. It was surprisingly ahead of the technological curve in terms of automobiles at the time. The first two years of production featured a touch screen computer interface called the "Electronic Control Center". This high tech feature controlled the radio and climate control functions and also provided diagnostic access to the vehicle's various electronic systems and sensors. This was especially useful given that it mostly eliminating the need for a diagnostic scanner. It was of course not your everyday PDA like is seemingly required by all today, but it did also feature a date reminder, a trip computer, and a user-configurable overspeed alarm. This was by sure a valiant attempt by Buick to ditch its image, which had them pegged to be producing somewhat boring and expected cars. In fact, this may have drawn glances from younger generations that otherwise would have discounted Buick as an automaker for their parents and grandparents.
