Additional Audi S4Auto Shipper Information:
Auto Shipper for Audi S4 In an attempt to shake up and re-configuring its lineup during the early 1990s, Audi introduced the S4 in 1991, and not until 1992 in the North America market. It was presented as the performance version of the re-styled 100 sedan. Although the S4 was based on the C4 Platform and shared its basic structure with the 100, the S4 effectively took the place of the 200 Turbo-Quattro sedan, which had sadly been discontinued the year before. The currently available Audi S4 is a high performance sport version of the popular Audi A4. The S4 was available worldwide with a turbocharged version of Audi's 2.2 L, 20-valve inline-5 engine developing 230 PS. Europeans were lucky to see the availability of a 280 PS (276 hp/206 kW) 6-speed manual. Audi always impresses consumers with their standard offerings, which on the model included Quattro all-wheel-drive and a manual transmission. Additionally a 4 speed automatic transmission was available as an option outside North America. The most commonly purchased configuration including 2.2L 6 speed offered good acceleration for its day and achieved 100km/h (62mph) in just 6.2 seconds despite a curb weight of 3384 lbs.

This model was re-badged as the S6 when the only real change that could be noticed were minor cosmetic updates and the addition of a more powerful S6 Plus model to the lineup again using the V8 engine, which was sadly only available outside of the United States.
Nevertheless, the S4 had an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), which made it both the quickest sedan in the Audi model line and among the quickest sedans in the world at that time. As was present in the previous S4 models, a six-speed manual transmission was standard equipment, as was the quattro all-wheel-drive. Audi stayed ahead of the curve by starting to offer a five-speed Tiptronic transmission for the first time as an option. This car is sure to please drivers with its handling and power capabilities.
