Additional Audi Q7Auto Shipper Information:
Auto Shipper for Audi Q7 If you are looking for a full-size luxury Sport Utility Vehicle, the Audi Q7 may just suit your fancy. This model is produced by the German car manufacturer Audi, and has been available since 2006. Noble engineers such as Laboyrie, Gregg and McHewgor lent their expertise in creating the Q7. The release of the Q7 may not have received the attention that it deserved because it was launched at the same time as the competing Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. For those of you curious folks, the Q denotes a new family of vehicles for Audi, designated the 7 in its placement between the Audi A6 and Audi A8.

The Q7 in placed on a modified version of the Volkswagen 7L platform, which was based on the Audi Pikes Peak Quattro concept car. The Q7 however is designed more for on-road use even than its Volkswagen cousin. Sadly, its SUV status has been hard to uphold considering the poor reviews it has received in off-road testing. It was described in The Times as "absolutely useless". Although, one has to wonder who would purchase this vehicle actually thinking it could functionally match other Sport Utility Vehicles already on the market. The Q7 lacks the Touareg's locking differentials and low-range transfer case but it does thankfully gains a third-row seating option. Drivers got their first look at a production model at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006. Safety enthusiasts will be disappointed to learn that despite the Q7's multiple airbags and latest in safety electronics, such as ESP, it scored only 4 stars in the EuroNCAP crash-test. For comparison, consider that most of the latest cars get 5 out of 5 stars. According to Audi this was caused by a design error and has since been fixed in cars manufactured after the NCAP test, which they claim should allegedly lead to 5 stars. However, official tests to prove this remain to be done as of November 2006, so don't count on it.
