Additional AMC ConcordAuto Shipper Information:
Auto Shipper for AMC Concord Staring in 1978 and continuing until 1983 the American Motors Corporation produced the AMC Concord. This slightly more luxurious vehicle was a replacement to the quite similar, yet more mundane, AMC Hornet. It was available to drivers in a four-door sedan, two-door coupe, two-door hatchback (until 1979), and for the larger families, a five-door station wagon. The 1978 model was sure to attract a second glance with its square headlights and eggcrate grill. However, in 1979, the company went conservative and redesigned the front end, which was a major turn-off to automotive enthusiasts. The obvious outcome was that the 1978 model thus became a collector's edition - something that the other models could not claim.

The Concord Limited was one of the most desirable models with its leather upholstery, full courtesy lighting, thick carpeting, luxury wheel covers, wood grain interior trim and sporty vinyl roof. AMC continued to upgrade the line by offering in the1980s: luxury options such as power windows, power remote-controlled mirrors and power seating - available for both the driver and the passenger. Drivers could really experience comfort by choosing the stereo radio, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, or an automatic transmission. The AMC Concord with all the added options became an affordable alternative to the BMW 3-series or the Cadillac Cimarron. The Concord body style lead to the development of the four-wheel drive AMC Eagle, which had nearly all the same exterior parts. Sadly, the Eagle was chosen to stay in production over the Concord when AMC started losing money in the 1980s.The Concord hit the chopping block and was replaced by the Eagle, which continued until early 1988. Nevertheless, the Concord is back from the grave in the form of the Chrysler Concorde - yet the only feature shared between the old relic and the new model sadly is the name.
