Nissan Versa

Japanese automaker Nissan added its latest addition to its lineup for the United States market with the Versa, which made its debut in late 2006 for the 2007 model year. This four door vehicle is available in both hatchback and sedan styles. Its goal is to provide an impressive amount of space and a variety of cutting edge, technologically advanced equipment in a sporty, compact vehicle. The Versa is crafted with a standard six speed manual overdrive transmission. However, a four speed automatic overdrive transmission is an alternative in the 1.8S and 1.8S Sedan trim styles; in the 1.8 SL and SL Sedan, a continuously variable transmission is available. The list of across the board standard features include air conditioning, power mirrors, rear window defogger, tilt steering, tachometer, and AM/FM stereo with compact disc player. The 1.8S trims also include standard alloy wheels, cruise control, steering wheel mounted controls and a CD changer. Optional equipment includes a sunroof, an ultra sophisticated Bluetooth hands free phone system, and advanced keyless entry system. A subwoofer is an available option in the 1.8SL, for those who desire an extra kick from their audio system. Passengers are in a for smooth, comfortable ride with generous head and leg room throughout the vehicle. Amble cargo space allows for easy storage, and in the 1.8 SL trims, the second row seat folds down for extra convenience. Another bonus offered by the Versa is outstanding fuel efficiency. First year evaluations from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, have been excellent with a near perfect score. Tire pressure monitoring and driver, passenger, and side airbags are standard safety features, along with a vehicle antitheft device and child safety locks. Antilock brakes are available in all trim styles as an add on option.
