Infiniti FX45 SUV

Infiniti is a great automaker that continuously puts forward favorable models. The Infiniti FX is a mid-size luxury crossover Sport Utility Vehicle sold in two models: the FX35 and the FX45. With the FX45 crossover, Infiniti sought to combine sports-car performance with Sport Utility Vehicle functionality, though the size of the platform and sloping rear end limits cargo space quite significantly. The FX45 incorporates a 4.5-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC), 4 valves per cylinder with micro finished camshafts (4,494 cc) 32-valve V8 with aluminum-alloy block and heads, low-friction molybdenum-coated pistons and a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) that optimizes opening of intake valves. This is also united with an electronically controlled super-wide ratio 5-speed automatic with a manual shift mode that includes the option of sequentially selected manual gearshifts and Downshift Rev Matching. Infiniti has certainly done its homework on determining what new technology is hot, and consumers seem to be enjoying the power performance of this model. The FX series was updated for 2006 with new options and some new standard features. The updates included leather seats, a power tilt/telescope steering wheel, and a rear view camera with a color screen. The FX45 featured additional upgrades, including a 320 hp (239 kW) V8 engine, a standard sunroof, a Bluetooth system, and aluminum roof rails. The taillights were also changed from red to clear. This has obviously made the FX45 the preferred model over the standard FX. The FX was introduced to replace the QX4 as Infiniti's mid-size luxury SUV, despite being larger than its predecessor. It faced tough competition in this segment as it was pinned against the big boys ' Porsche and Volvo. Infiniti seems to be holding its own, as it seems to attract a slightly different customer base. The Infiniti could be best described as tasteful, but not indulgent, luxury.
